Participation

How many players can attend the showcase?

We have a limit of 100 players each for the men's and women's showcase.
If the capacity is exhausted, new registrations will be put on a waiting list.

Is there a registration deadline?

The registration deadline for the showcase is December 3rd. As we only have a limited amount of spots available, we encourage players to sign up early to secure their spot.

How old should I be to participate?

There is no fixed age requirement for the event. We believe that the best time to participate in our showcase is the two years prior to graduating (from high school). For the 2023 event, that would be players who will graduate or have graduated in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Nevertheless, participating at a younger age or while already in college is also possible and offers a great chance to showcase your skills.

Your Keystone Sports experts will be happy to advise you if you are not sure whether it makes sense to participate this year.

Which format is played?

You will play in teams of 11v11.

We will allocate all participants to the teams in terms of position and playing level, in order to have evenly balanced teams competing against each other. Depending on the number of teams, we will arrange the game schedule so that each team will be on the court for about 90 minutes per showcase day. To conclude the event, we will select a winning team in both the Men's and Women's Showcase.

What level do I need to be to participate?

Because the U.S. college system offers a wide variety and options for every player, we do the same at our Showcase and do not generally exclude any level of play. The only important criteria is that you meet the requirements for eligibility to play college soccer. We will be happy to advise you on this.

Please note that we reserve the right to refuse participation in the Showcase if personal, academic or athletic eligibility requirements for college soccer are not met.

Is the Showcase open to international players?

Our event is specifically aimed at players from all countries. The event is particularly popular with players from the German-speaking EU region.
In addition to our edition in Germany, Keystone Sports offers college soccer showcases across Europe, such as in England, Scandinavia and Spain.

Can parents attend the event?

Yes, parents and family members in general are allowed to be at the event. We recommend players to bring somebody with them to have a familiar person around during such an event.

The facility has a large covered stadium seating area where guests can watch the games. Parents can also attend presentations and talk to the Keystone team about any issues or questions.

How many college coaches will attend?

As in the previous years, we expect a high number of coaches at our Showcase. In the last edition of the Soccer Showcase, over 50 coaches were live on site and many more virtually.

What is the level of college coaches attending the event?

Coaches from all NAIA, Juco, and all NCAA Divisions will be invited to attend the event in person or online. In the past years we had coaches from every athletic and academic level, school size, and location at the showcase.

Am I allowed to talk to any coach during the showcase?

The NCAA and NAIA have further recruiting rules that the coaches have to follow. They are not allowed to talk to all players equally or in person at the event.

We'll play in an artificial turf stadium with 500 covered seats.

All the presentations and meals will also take place in the event room there. The showcase hotel is located right next to the stadium within walking distance.

How do I get to the showcase facility?

Start - Hamburg Central Station:

1. Underground line 3 (direction Barmbek) departs from Hauptbahnhof Süd every 5 min

2. Change trains at the Barmbek station to the U3 (direction Wandsbek-Gartenstadt)

3. Get off at Habichtstraße station

4. From there on it is a 2 min walk to the showcase facility

Start - Hamburg Airport:

1. The S1 (direction Wedel) leaves from the airport every 10 min

2. Take the S1 to the Barmbek station

3. Change to U3 (direction Wandsbek-Gartenstadt) and get off at Habichtstrasse

4. From there it is a 2 min walk to the showcase facility

Directions

Is parking available at the facility?

Yes, there is free parking right next to the stadium.

Is there a restaurant at the facility?

All participants will be catered for directly at the showcase facility. Parents will also be able to purchase snacks and drinks at the facility.

In addition, there are many other restaurants within walking distance of the showcase facility.

Can I warm up at the facility?

15-30 minutes of warm-up time are scheduled before the showcase matches.

What happens in the case of bad weather?

With the artificial turf stadium on Dieselstraße in Hamburg, we have chosen a location where you can show your best performance even in difficult weather conditions. Nevertheless, in the event of heavy frost or snowfall, matches may be cancelled or postponed.

Travel

When should I arrive for the Showcase?

The Women's Showcase officially starts on Monday December 11th, with early morning check-in for coaches and players. The Prep Day will take place one day before on December 10th.

The Men's Showcase officially starts on Wednesday December 13th, with early morning check-in for coaches and players. The Prep Day will take place the day before on December 12th.

If you are travelling by plane or more than three hours by car or train, we recommend arriving the day before so that you can start the event well rested.

When is the event finished?

The Women's Showcase will end on Tuesday December 12th with individual meetings between coaches and players. Depending on the number of meetings the coaches want to have with you, the event will finish in the early or late afternoon for you.

The Men's Showcase will end on Thursday December 14th with individual meetings between coaches and players. Depending on the number of meetings the coaches would like to have with you, the event will end in the afternoon or early evening for you.

Please make sure to let us know in advance if you need to leave the event at a certain time or if you arrive late so that we can plan your participation accordingly.

Is there a hotel for showcase participants?

The official hotel of the Keystone Sports College Soccer Showcase 2023 is the B&B Hotel Hamburg-Nord. It is located directly next to the showcase facility.

Players will be accommodated in three-bed rooms:
Three-Bed rooms - 59,00€ per night/room

Coaches and accompanying persons can book single and twin rooms (breakfast included):
Single room - 110,00€ per night/room
Double room - 140,00€ per night/room

Which airport ist the best to fly to?

In case you are flying in from America or non-European destinations, we would recommend flying to Hamburg International Airport.

With our transportation package we will pick you up at the Hamburg airport or central train station.

How do I get to the facility by public transportation?

I still have school during the Showcase, what do I do?

We will be happy to issue you with an official letter to apply for exemption from classes at your school during the event days. Simply tick the appropriate box during registration. We will then send you the letter automatically.

Wie viele Spieler können am Showcase teilnehmen?

Wir haben ein Limit von jeweils 100 SpielerInnen für das Herren- und Damen-Showcase.

Sobald wir die volle Kapazität erreicht haben, werden wir jede Neuanmeldung auf eine Warteliste setzen, um ggf. nachzurücken, falls ein Platz frei wird.

Gibt es einen Anmeldeschluss?

Die Anmeldefrist für das Showcase endet am 3. Dezember. Da wir jedoch nur eine begrenzte Anzahl von Plätzen zur Verfügung haben, empfehlen wir den SpielerInnen, sich frühzeitig anzumelden, um sich ihren Platz zu sichern.

Wie alt sollte ich sein, um teilnehmen zu können?

Es gibt keine feste Alterbeschränkung für das Event. Wir glauben, dass der beste Zeitpunkt für die Teilnahme an unserem Showcase die zwei Jahre vor dem (Fach-)Abitur/Matura Abschluss sind. Für die Veranstaltung im Jahr 2023 wären das die SpielerInnen, die 2023, 2024 und 2025 ihren Abschluss machen werden bzw. gemacht haben.

Es ist jedoch auch möglich, in einem jüngeren Alter oder während des Studiums teilzunehmen. Deine Experten von Keystone Sports beraten dich gerne, wenn du dir nicht sicher bist, ob eine Teilnahme in diesem Jahr sinnvoll ist.

Wie siehts das Spielformat aus?

Gespielt wird im 11-gegen-11.

Wir werden alle TeinehmerInnen in Bezug auf Position und Spielniveau in die Teams einteilen, sodass möglichst ausgeglichene Mannschaften gegeneinander antreten werden. Je nach Anzahl der Mannschaften werden wir den Spielplan so zusammenstellen, dass jedes Team in etwa 90 Minuten pro Showcase-Tag auf dem Platz steht. Zum Abschluss des Events wird jeweils eine Sieger Mannschaft bei den Damen und Herren von uns gekürt werden.

Welches spielerische Level muss ich haben, um teilnehmen zu können?

Da das US-College-System eine große Vielfalt und Optionen für jede*n SpielerIn bietet, tun wir das Gleiche bei unserem Showcase und schließen kein Spielniveau grundsätzlich aus. Wichtig ist, dass du die Voraussetzungen für eine College Soccer Spielberechtigung (Eligibility) erfüllst. Gerne beraten wir dich dazu.

Beachte bitte, dass wir uns vorbehalten die Teilnahme am Showcase zu verweigern, sofern persönliche, akademische oder sportliche Voraussetzungen für College Soccer nicht erfüllt sind.

Ist der Showcase auch an internationale Spieler gerichtet?

Unsere Veranstaltung richtet sich explizit an SpielerInnen aus allen Ländern. Traditionell nehmen insbesondere SpielerInnen aus dem deutschprachigen EU-Raum an unserem Event teil.

Neben unserer Ausgabe in Deutschland bietet Keystone Sports europaweit College Soccer Showcases an, wie zum Beispiel in England, Skandinavien und Spanien.

Können Eltern an der Veranstaltung teilnehmen?

Ja, Eltern und Familienmitglieder dürfen im Allgemeinen an der Veranstaltung teilnehmen. Wir empfehlen den SpielerInnen, jemanden mitzubringen, damit sie bei einer solchen Veranstaltung eine vertraute Person dabei haben.

Die Anlage verfügt über eine große überdachte Stadiontribüne, wo Gäste die Spiele verfolgen können. Außerdem können die Eltern Präsentationen beiwohnen und mit dem Keystone-Team über alle Themen und Fragen sprechen.

Wie viele College Trainer werden teilnehmen?

Wie auch in der Vergangenheit erwarten wir wieder eine hohe Anzahl von Trainern bei unserem Showcase. In der letzen Ausgabe des Soccer Showcase waren über 50 Coaches live vor Ort und viele weitere virtuell dabei.

Welches Niveau haben die an der Veranstaltung teilnehmenden College-Trainer?

Trainer aus allen NAIA-, Juco- und NCAA-Divisionen werden eingeladen, persönlich oder online an der Veranstaltung teilzunehmen. In den vergangenen Jahren nahmen Trainer aus allen sportlichen und akademischen Bereichen, Schulgrößen und Standorten an der Veranstaltung teil. Dadurch können wir mit dem Event allen SpielerInnen eine Plattform bieten, um sich vor passenden Colleges zu präsentieren.

Darf ich während dem Showcase mit Trainern sprechen?

Die NCAA und NAIA haben explizite Rekrutierungsregeln, an die sich die Trainer halten müssen. Sie dürfen nicht mit allen Spielern gleichermaßen oder persönlich bei der Veranstaltung sprechen.

Für das Showcase steht uns ein Kunstrasen-Stadion mit 500 überdachten Sitzplätzen zur Verfügung. Darüber hinaus finden alle Präsentationen und Mahlzeiten im dortigen Veranstaltungsraum statt. Das Showcase-Hotel befindet sich direkt neben dem Stadion, sodass alle wichtigen Anlaufstellen fußläufig erreichbar sind.

Wegbeschreibung

Gibt es Parkplätze bei der Anlage?

Ja, es gibt kostenlose Parkplätze direkt neben dem Stadion.

Gibt es ein Restaurant in der Anlage?

Alle TeilnehmerInnen werden direkt auf der Showcaseanlage verpflegt. Auch Eltern werden Snacks und Getränke auf der Anlage erwerben können. Darüber hinaus befinden sich für Begleitpersonen viele weitere Restaurants in fußläufiger Umgebung.

Kann ich mich auf der Anlage aufwärmen?

In der Regel sind 15-30 Minuten Aufwärmzeit vor den Showcase Matches eingeplant.

Was geschieht im Falle von schlechtem Wetter?

Wir haben mit dem Kunstrasen-Stadion an der Dieselstraße in Hamburg eine Location gewählt, in der du auch bei widrigen Wetterbedingungen deine beste Leistung zeigen kannst. Nichstdestotrotz kann es bei sehr starkem Frost oder Schneefall zu Spielausfällen oder -verschiebungen kommen.

Kann man sich vor Ort physiotherapeutisch behandeln lassen?

Ja, es wird über das gesamte Showcase ein Physio vor Ort sein.

Wann sollte ich zum Showcase anreisen?

Das Damen-Showcase beginnt offiziell am Montag den 11. Dezember, mit dem Check-in am frühen Morgenfür Trainer und SpielerInnen. Der Prep-Day findet einen Tag vorher am 10. Dezember statt.

Wenn du mit dem Flugzeug anreist oder länger als drei Stunden mit dem Auto oder der Bahn unterwegs bist, empfehlen wir bereits am Vortag anzureisen, damit du gut ausgeruht in das Event starten kannst.

Wann ist die Veranstaltung beendet?

Das Damen-Showcase endet am Dienstag, den 12. Dezember, mit persönlichen Treffen zwischen Coaches und Spielerinnen. Je nach Anzahl der Einzelgespräche, die die Coaches mit dir halten möchten, wir die Veranstaltung am frühen oder späten Nachmittag für dich beendet sein.

Das Herren-Showcase endet am Donnerstag, den 14. Dezember, mit persönlichen Treffen zwischen Coaches und Spielern. Je nach Anzahl der Einzelgespräche, die die Coaches mit dir halten möchten, wir die Veranstaltung am Nachmittag oder frühen Abend für dich beendet sein.

Bitte gib uns unbedingt im Voraus Bescheid, falls du die Veranstaltung zu einer bestimmten Zeit verlassen musst oder erst verspätet anreisen kannst, damit wir deine Teilnahme entsprechend planen können.

Gibt es ein Hotel für die Showcase-Teilnehmer?

Das offizielle Hotel des Keystone Sports College Soccer Showcase 2023 ist das B&B Hotel Hamburg-Nord. Es befindet sich direkt neben der Showcase-Anlage.

Gerne stellen wir dir ein offizielles Schreiben aus, um eine Unterrichtsbefreiung bei deiner Schule während der Veranstaltungstage zu beantragen. Setze im Rahmen der Registrierung einfach das entsprechende Häkchen. Wir schicken dir das Schreiben dann automatisch zu.
